ESP SITE DIRECTOR
SCHOOL PERSONNEL

CREDENTIALS: College degree preferred but not required.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS: Licensed employees already working at the school where a vacancy exists may be preferred but not required. This person must be experienced in working with groups of children and demonstrate leadership qualities necessary for the effective management of staff. Must be courteous, respectful, confidential and protect the privacy of parents and students. Behavior and dress must be professional. Must demonstrate happy, helpful attitude; must be confidential, committed to detail and documentation; must work cooperatively with school staff; must have good written and verbal communication skills, effectively follow and give directions, and use good judgment in decision-making. Must be creative and emotionally mature.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Must be able to see, hear, and move quickly enough to provide for the safety and instructional needs of children. Must be ale to articulate clearly. Must be physically active and interactive throughout the day (i.e., be able to stand for extended periods of time, stoop, bend, do light lifting, push, pull, step and have good finger dexterity). Must have emotional coping skills appropriate for the management of student behavior. Must tolerate environmental smells and substances commonly associated with children and educational institutions.

PRIMARY DUTIES: The person in this position oversees the management policies and general business operations of the Extended School Program at the school site, supervises the site staff and services to children and parents.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  1. Observe all safety rules.
  2. Work cooperatively with the Building Principal and school personnel.
  3. Follow the regular school rules in ESP implementation.
  4. Assist in screening and selecting materials and equipment.
  5. Train non-licensed staff in programs philosophy, purposes and goals.
  6. Assist staff in planning and implementing daily, weekly and monthly student activities.
  7. Demonstrate imagination and resourcefulness in working with and planning for students.
  8. Plan and supervise the implementation of enrichment activities for students during the year as well as intersession, summer and holidays.
  9. Assist in maintaining assigned records.
  10. Promote public relations for ESP and the school.
  11. Provide leadership and modeling in maintenance of appropriate discipline standards.
  12. Supervise the parent pickup of children.
  13. Supervise the proper management of building areas in which ESP operates insuring facility orderliness and cleanliness.
  14. Attend scheduled staff meetings.
  15. Purchase and maintain adequate snack supplies.
  16. Develop and maintain appropriate schedules for staff and students.
  17. Enforce ESP dress code.
  18. Exercise discretion and use of good independent judgment.
  19. Perform other duties as assigned.


STAFF RELATIONSHIP: Reports directly to the Building Principal.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Part-time, 12 month, No Benefits, Exempt.
